Dear families,

In 2014 I made nainai as an iPhone reading diary for my own family's read-alouds. Instead of a photo, each kid picked an illustrated character to be.

The name is 奶奶, “grandma” in Mandarin. She is who the sharing was for.

In 2026 I brought it back, on the web and on iPhone, with the same idea: keep the books your kids love, and share them with the people who care.

nainai is free for families. When you buy a book through one of our Amazon links, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I ask for very little: a nickname, and only the month and year a child was born, so the books suit their age. No photos.
